Earlier Leonid Chernovetskiy replied to an insulting comment left on his Facebook page, saying “Most likely, Andrey, you are nothing but a couch potato loser. You’ve been robbed by all successful people – obviously they didn’t take your money, they took your brains…”
As a follow-up to this exchange, on January 15, Mr. Chernovetskiy got a letter from a user named Vyacheslav, saying “Good afternoon, Leonid. Today in some newspaper I’ve read your reply you left on your Facebook page, ‘Most likely, Andrey, you are nothing but a couch potato loser. You’ve been robbed by all successful people – obviously they didn’t take your money, they took your brains…’ I agree with you to some extent, hence I have a question – what an average guy can do to avoid becoming a couch potato loser? Does it mean that if someone is not successful in business he or she will automatically become a loser? Thank you in advance for your answer.”
Here is the reply Leonid Chernovetskiy gave: “You’ve asked me a very important question, Vyacheslav, so I decided to post my reply on the wall. I want to share it with all my page visitors.
The way I see it, a couch potato loser is a person who is not able to analyse the information, who thoughtlessly believes gossip, propaganda, unsubstantiated “sensational news”, etc. This is a typical couch potato.
A loser is a person who can’t find his or her niche in life. Such people see themselves as entrepreneurs or politicians, writers or government ministers, presidents, etc., but they cannot possibly reach the position they dream of. They think that it’s just them who has a bad luck, and the others are lucky. So they blame everyone who is more successful in business or public service. Gradually, they lose motivation and start trashing those who have accomplished something. Such people don’t learn from others, don’t grow…
I respect people who are ambitions and enjoy what they do for a living, who are happy to see the success of other people and learn by their example. Anyone can be such a person: a good janitor, a fitter, a small business owner, an honest open-minded public servant. None of them is a loser. They are just happy people!
I have seen many good public servants at all levels. I can tell by your question that you are one of them.”
