Three persons receive the status of "Honorary Citizen of Kiev"
The Kiev City Council decided to award the title of “Honorary Citizen of Kiev” to Ivan Vinogradov, labour veteran of the Kiev subway, Leonid Gubersky, principal of the Taras Shevchenko National University and Dmitry Kiva, chief designer of the Antonov state enterprise.
Following a glorious tradition started in 1987, on the eve of the Kiev Day the capital celebrates the outstanding achievements for the benefit of the Kiev community and shows respect for the people who made significant contributions to developing the city and promoting it on the international arena.
Since the award was introduced, 53 people received the title of “Honorary Citizen of Kiev”.
“Today, very commendable people received the honorary title. Through their fruitful work they have made significant contributions to the city of Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. We are grateful to them, we congratulate them on receiving the award and wish new victories in the future,” commented Leonid Chernovetskiy.
