THE BOOK "THE CRAZY STORY"
(2017)

Book description
For many years, I’ve been nursing the idea of writing an autobiographic book: after all, my life has been difficult, instructive for thinking people, and full of different events! I lacked time to stop and sum everything up and sort everything out, but I’ve never given up on it! And now the time has finally come, and I’m glad that my dream has come true!

Selected Quotes

Memories of the best things in your life should not be destroyed by reality! Reader, they should live in your mind in parallel and warm your soul in the most difficult moments!
Reader, only those people are lucky in their life who are worthy of it: those who work hard and have at least minimal ability…
Work, love, bring up your children, and God will determine Himself what happens next, He knows why and what for, no one else knows that!!! Such things happen in life! Reader, do not make any predictions for your life. This is my important advice to you. God works in mysterious ways. It’s true.
That’s why, dear reader, no matter how hard the times are, pay attention to your children, especially when they are 13-18 years old, do not leave them out of sight for a second. There are loads of temptations everywhere, and almost all of them may lead to the loss of your loved one—your own child!
Dreams often come true, but expectations don’t, and never expect from your children the same things you have given to them!!! In most cases, children will never appreciate what you have done for them and will never understand you!
And remember, dear reader! If you need to solve some important problems— turn to those people who can solve them and help you do it, no matter their rank or position…
Once, one friend of mine, who had established himself as a businessman, told me that it’s only difficult to earn your first million; after that, dozens of them rain down on you! And I can only confirm this! And this is the second most valuable advice I want to give you, dear reader! Would you like to start a business? Thoroughly study the matter. Read business publications and use your computer frequently. Your first million is hidden there!
Remember, dear reader, bear it in mind and remind yourself every day: you can’t rest on the laurels of what you have achieved. Only growing constantly and perfecting one’s skills one can stay successful; otherwise, competition will catch up with you very quickly and destroy everything you’ve created!
So good luck to you, dear reader, in your good deeds, and remember: no matter how much you pray, if you don’t supplement your prayer with helping your neighbour, it will never be heard by God! If you do good, not to a relative, but to a stranger, you will be saved forever! All your sins will be forgiven because the good will save the world. We were born and came to this sinful Earth to do good! There is and there will be nothing more important in life than this!

291 Reviews of the book

Mr. Leonid, I am delighted with your book... you are a happy man... it turns out that you have gone through a complicated life full of difficulties... you are an example for all... Good luck to you!

Aleksandr

I’ve read the book and liked it. It is easy to read. The only thing I wish was there is how you moved to Georgia. Have you moved there on your own volition or for other reasons?

Maksim

I've looked through your book. I'm going to read it the other day when I have spare time. To me, Leonid Chernovetskiy was always interesting as a person and a businessman. As a human being. I hope to find a lot of useful information in the book. Thank you for the book. Regards!

Greetings! I am the author of the review on The Crazy History. You were surprised then that none of my details had been saved, although I clearly recall that there were name and e-mail fields (now an e-mail field is available, so I've filled it in). But I digress. I'm happy to have gotten interested in you as a person. I have read two more books—A Success Story and How to Become a Millionaire. I loved them, but I'd take the liberty of providing some criticism, which come a little bit late since the book The Crazy Story seems to have already taken it into account. So, here it goes. Your writing is exceptional—it is sensible, consistent, thoughtful, and addresses important issues. Your thoughts and narration are most interesting to read. In your past books, you have been using a lot of quotes on your activities. And although reviews are probably a good thing, I find your words more valuable than someone else’s. And here the criticism ends. As for my wishes, which I'm sure will be supported by the majority of your readers, I would like to read many more of your books. Now I'm thinking about writing my own book containing my thoughts on life, the world, business, human psychology, morals... I think it would be nice to read something like that written by you. Of course, what I mentioned is present in all of your books, but I think it would be even more interesting to find them in a single one. A kind of guidance for the young generation (and not only). But it is my opinion. I must admit that your books have made me more confident (I am a very confident person anyway, but sometimes in recent years I have been poorly motivated, and I knew I could do everything, but considering what was happening around me, I wanted nothing). Moreover, I can state quite confidently that in this world there are only two people who I would look up to and follow their footsteps. And one of them is you. In your contemplations, I have recognized my own, almost identical thoughts. And even my main business idea for a new start-up is very similar to your idea that was eventually embodied as Pravex. And I thought of it BEFORE reading your books, literally knowing near nothing about you. But it's different, because, although it follows the same principle, it “comes” from a completely different side. And yesterday I have taken the first steps in its implementation. Simultaneously, I have decided to develop several business directions. And I was surprised to find out that I had all the necessary resources for that, even though I am currently tight on money to pay for the repairs on my car's undercarriage, and for this reason I am forced to walk (although I had earned money for this very car in just 3 months when I was 19, and this is the car I wanted and still love, although I'm 27 already, and I totally don't want to sell it). By the way, one of the directions I started developing is psychology. I believe many of the people you help may need psychological aid. I don't visit in Kyiv very often, most of my time is spent on the road, but when I'm here, I would be glad to provide them such aid. Of course, totally free. Sometimes, the best payment for a service like that is the experience you get. By the way, apart from being a psychologist, I have degrees in natural science and law, and am an entrepreneur (in trading), a journalist (more of a hobby), a tourist (also for my pleasure; active tourism doesn't bring big profits, but mends the soul) by previous work experience. In other words, I have an understanding of many business directions and will be quick to assess the situation and help those somehow related to them but currently out for some reason. Probably I should also say... I like changing the world for better. I decided not to leave Ukraine and the CIS in general (I go to Russia often), at least for now. This is a kind of a sport and a challenge — to build something place where the state itself has made every possible effort to restrict people's desire and ability to work and earn. Being above the system, bypassing its schemes is plain awesome. And I want to try it again. Thank you for your wonderful deeds and books!

THANK YOU FOR THE EVALUATION OF MY HUMBLE WORKS!

Mikhail

Sir! I have read your book and got a little sad—I remembered the school, the cemetery and saw... my parents... You got me hooked! I hardly know you... but to me, you are our simple Soviet genius. I am well in my 60 too and went from rags… I’m not a Jew though, but does it matter?

Good luck, Mikhail! Cheer up!

I’ve read your book in one breath: very interesting, exciting. It is written in simple, accessible language. I could not stop until I read your book from beginning to end. You are a unique person, and, as you wrote, this is the merit of God. May Almighty God give you good health and strength to serve destitute people. I wish happiness to your family.

Dear Mr. Leonid! I've read your book, parts two and three drew most of my attention, but before I continue my thought, I'd like to point out one strange thing. When I stumbled upon your motivational phrases in social networks, I thought you probably are a Sagittarius. I do not know how much you believe in astrology, but my assumption was quite optimistic. I’m a Sagittarius too, and your philosophical views are much like mine. In addition, I am also a philosopher. Frankly speaking, your monologue even became a dialogue in a sense, because I personally saw myself; your frankness, the pronouns I and you had turned the author and the reader into us. I was reading part four of the book with special attention. Now I'm 22; it is my fifth year in politics, and in my opinion, politics is not a dirty business, it does not justify itself. Despite this, I try not to lose my principles and high ideals, because I think they are truly eternal, and what is inherent in hostile politics is a temporary façade. I deeply believe that if the politics is a craft and a calling, the art of communication, it doesn't, by any means, eliminate morals and conscience, and those who are not politicians by calling are capable of anything. For them, the end justifies the means. If a person does not have a painting talent, they cannot become a painter, and so it is in the case of politics. You have mentioned hypocrisy, which had been unacceptable to me since childhood because while pretending, you lose yourself and become a different person, and that is worse than dying, if you know what I mean. I will not be talking about politics any longer and will touch upon part three—the charity aiming to show the phenomenon of kindness and the greater ideal. Indeed, I am and will be of the opinion that kindness is contagious and that the good is God incarnate. To do good is for those chosen since if one does not know what good is, it can not be done. Everything earthly is temporary, but the good is a phenomenon of the heavens, it is eternal, and thus never lost, as the physical law says, energy does not dissipate, it is transformed into a different energy. So it is in the case of good deeds: Life is a boomerang, it returns as the image of spiritual happiness sooner or later. I think that love for God and yourself has helped you to get the difficult race. I think (I don't know whether you would agree) the main goal of life is understanding yourself. Your success was also influenced by a leader's nature, sure, I agree people are born to lead, they don't simply become leaders, such is the law of the land. A real leader provides others with opportunities to be successful. Such is my understanding of the meaning of true success. Thank you one more time!

THANK YOU FOR FINDING THE TIME TO READ THE BOOK. I HOPE IT WILL GIVE YOU A CAUSE FOR THINKING!

Mr. Leonid, your book is such a delight... You are a lucky man... It turns out that you have gone through a complicated life full of difficulties... You are an example for us all... Good luck to you!

Press about the book

The Crazy Story in quotes: “If you are poor, it means it was given to you by God”

The ex-mayor of Kyiv opens up in his book about how he achieved success in business and assures that he’s never cooperated with the authorities or criminals.

Leonid Chernovetsky: it’s only difficult to earn your first million

The former investigator of the Prosecutor’s Office Chernovetsky had already established himself as a big businessman before becoming the mayor of Kyiv. Besides, the sale of his Pravex-bank to Italian group Intesa Sanpaolo for $750 million became one of the most successful deals in the Ukrainian financial sector in the mid-2000s. The Crazy Story was published through Chernovetsky’s personal website in spring.

Leonid Chernovetsky publishes The Crazy Story

The ex-mayor of Kyiv Leonid Chernovetsky, who now lives in Georgia, published a new book The Crazy Story. According to the author, this book is about victories and disappointments, about being betrayed by close people, about poor and neglected childhood. A story about “an ordinary urchin” who became a successful banker and politician.

Chernovetsky’s crazy bestseller

Interestingly, The Crazy Story is not the first opus of Leonid Mykhailovych. Prior to that, he published The Confession of the Mayor in 2008, How to Become a Millionaire and The Story of Success in 2009. The previous books sounded too official, whereas The Crazy Story looks like a confession rather than memoirs with such a title. It seems the ex-mayor of Kyiv wrote the book himself, or with some minimal help, and, no doubt, from the bottom of his heart.

“Never refuse money”. 20 quotes from a new book by Leonid Chernovetsky

The ex-mayor of Kyiv Leonid Chernovetsky published his book The Crazy Story. In the book, he tells the story of his life and gives his readers some pieces of advice on how to conduct business and to be a politician. Strana provides the most interesting quotes from the book.

ABOUT THE BOOK

«The Crazy Story» is a memoir of unusual person and a bestseller, the electronic version of which was read by over 100,000 people since its publication. The author’s life is full of ups and downs, victories and disappointments, friendship and betrayal, which are described in the book very vividly and emotionally.

This biography does not pretend to be “historic”. It’s just an exciting story about an urchin who grew into one of the most famous businessmen and politicians in Ukraine. What’s more important, it is about the simple and kind people he met during his life, about “earthly angels”, who gave him a helping hand in the most difficult periods of his life.

In the book, you will find the author’s vivid and precise recollections about the meetings and philosophy of Ukraine’s main political figures, as well as a lot of useful advice for those who are ready to walk the path of fame and success against all the odds and look for the answers to the most essential questions that life puts to them: how to find yourself, fully realise your potential, and, of course, to live a worthy life!

The book is ironic and sincere, its main characters being quite ordinary and open people who you often meet on your life’s journey, but sometimes you simply don’t notice how grand they are in their everyday behaviour and kindness.

The book "The Crazy Story" (2017)

Many years I have been haunted by the idea to write a book about my life, complicated and at the same time instructive for thinkers, enriched with many circumstances! This idea has always been on my mind, but there has never been time to stop and summarize, to make it loud and simple! And finally I have time and I am glad that my dream has come true.
